Abu Dhabi Hotel Open’s in World’s Largest LED

Be ready to awe. Newest architectural wonders of the Middle East, Yas Hotel’s in Abu Dhabi, recently completed in conjunction with launch 2009 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, held at the new circuit was built around the hotel. The hotel has the world’s largest LED project to date, controlled through a remote device management (RDM) protocol.

Built by Aldar Properties and designed byAsymptote Architecture, the main design attraction of this 5-star, 500-room, 279,000 square foot complex, is a grid-covered curved shell with more than 5300 diamond-shaped steel bar, which contains nearly 5,000 LED RGBW fixtures. New York lighting design form Arup Lighting  effects such as lights change color and adjust the order of three-dimensional low-resolution video content on the grid-shell.

Under this high-tech shell two-tower hotel stay complete with a statue-monocoque steel bridge pass-through to walk on the Formula 1 racetrack for customers to easily back and forth from building to building, and following the events below.

Yas Hotel opened its doors October 30, 2009.
